Find Alabama DUI Records

The Alabama DUI records are maintained by the Alabama Department of Public Safety. The DUI laws of the state are listed under Section 32-5A-191 of the state statutes. The laws state that a driver, when found to have a BAC or blood alcohol concentration of 0.8% can be booked under charges of driving under influence.

An individual, below the age of 21, shall be charged with DUI offense if found to have a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.2% or more is detected as per state statute. Even sitting with such alcohol concentration in your blood is sufficient for you to be taken into custody, let alone driving the vehicle in such a condition.

The Alabama DUI charges may lead to the imposition of a jail term as penalty. The term may of one year for a first time offense and gradually increase in its span, depending on the severity of the offense and by the discretion of the judges. The flouting of rules, with regard to the DUI laws, may even lead to the suspension of the driving license of an individual for a period of three months.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety can make an exception in this regard by granting the offender a license to drive to work and back but that is issued only after the submitting adequate proof of a financial responsibility with an Alabama SR22 insurance policy.
