Search for Alaska DUI Records

The Alaska Department of Administration, Division of Motor Vehicles, is in charge of preserving and maintaining the Alaska DUI records. Driving Under Influence is considered a serious offense in the state. If an individual is convicted of any such offense, these details become part of the individual’s driving record. The DUI records could be requested from the Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles. However, an individual can only gain access to his or her own driving records. Request for another person’s driving record will be granted only if you possess the signed consent letter of the concerned individual.

Alaska DUI Records: Access Records in Person

Alaska DUI records are available from the Division of Motor Vehicles office. All you need to do is visit any such office location and provide your personal details. In order to access the driving records you also need to show some proof of identification like your driver’s license or passport. The office addresses, hours of operation and other such information are available at http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/office/index.htm. You could access the records of another individual only if you have signed authorization from the person. You could also access the driving record of a minor if you are his or her parent or legal guardian.

Alaska DUI Records: via Mail

You could mail in your Alaska DUI record request to the Division of Motor Vehicles. The items that you need to provide for the processing of the request are as follows:

•    Written request for the driving records
•    Full name
•    Date of birth or the Driver’s License Number
•    Purpose for record request
•    Telephone number
•    Signature

There are a number of reasons that a driving record may be requested. In certain cases it is necessary for employment purposes. Insurance also requires driving records. You could also need your driving records if you want a ‘clearance letter’ from any authority.

You need to enclose a personalized check or money order, as processing fee, payable to the Division of Motor Vehicles, Alaska. These documents and the personalized check or money order are to be sent to the STATE OF ALASKA, DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES, ATTN: RESEARCH, 1300 W BENSON BOULEVARD, SUITE 200, ANCHORAGE AK 99503-3600

The card details are mandatory in the driving record request by fax. The processing time for a fax request is approximately two business days.

In case you do not receive the driving records within this span of time you could send an email to DOA.DMV.WebMaster@Alaska.gov. The email must provide the full name of the requester, the fax number and the date on which the request was made. The Division of Motor Vehicles of Alaska would be able to check whether the request was received and inform you about the status of the request as well.

Each Alaska driving record request has a processing fee of $10.00. You can pay the fee via a money order or personalized check if you visit the Division of Motor Vehicles, Alaska, in person or mail it to them. Non-personalized checks are not accepted. Credit cards are required for fax requests.
