The Ameritech Corporation was formerly known as American Information Technologies Corporation. This is an U.S. company of telecommunications which arose in the year 1984 from the preexisting AT&T. Ameritech rendered Telecommunications services to most parts of U.S Midwest. Since this company has merged with AT&T, the name “Ameritech” is rarely used. The Ameritech Company was actually a “Bell operating company” which functioned in some of the regions of U.S. The subsidiaries which were present under Ameritech before it merged with AT&T are as follows-

This company unified with AT&T (previously known as SBC) in the year 1998. The above mentioned Bell brands were under the Ameritech Company for almost nine years. In 1993, Ameritech retired from these Bell brands officially and operated solely by itself. Hence forth these five states were encompassed under the Ameritech Corporation. It had the tag “d/b/a Ameritech state” attached to the names of the Bell brands for promoting brand emergence.
The headquarters of Ameritech Corporation are in Chicago, IL, USA. The company had also owned a wireless company which had its networking providing services to few of the major cities of the Bell brand states. This sub-company was called Ameritech Cellular. The legal name of this company was first changed to SC Teleholdings, Inc in 2003 and then to AT&T Teleholdings, Inc. in 2006.
Currently it is progressing as AT&T Midwest. But there are a number of subsidiaries which are still working with the legal name of Ameritech for example “Ameritech Advanced Services”.
