The U.S. Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel
The U.S. Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate panel is the federal appellate court which hears appeals in bankruptcy cases from the following districts: the District of Nebraska, the Western District of Missouri, Eastern District of Missouri, District of North Dakota, District of Minnesota, District of South Dakota, Southern District of Iowa, Northern District of Iowa, Western District of Arkansas and Eastern District of Arkansas. The court is located in St.Louis, Missouri at the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse.
There are six active judges serving the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Eighth Circuit, one of which serves as chief judge. This position is rotated among all active judges, and requirements to hold this office are that the judge must be at least 70 years old or have served for at least seven years. If no active judge meets these requirements, they are waived.
