The U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals
The U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals is the federal appellate court which hears appeals from the following nine districts: the Southern District of Georgia, Middle District of Georgia, Northern District of Georgia, Southern District of Alabama, Middle District of Alabama, Northern District of Alabama, Southern District of Florida, Middle District of Florida and Northern District of Florida.
This court conducts business in Atlanta, Georgia, and is located at 56 Forsyth Street, N.W.. The main phone number to the clerk's office is 404-335-6100. There are also unmanned offices in Jacksonville and Montgomery, and a satellite office located in Miami at 99 N.E. 4th Street.
There are currently ten active judges serving the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, one of which is the chief judge. This office is rotated among all active judges, and in order to be eligible a judge must be at least 70 years old or have served for seven years. However, if no active judges meet these requirements, they are waived. There are also seven senior judges for the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
