Franklin Ohio Court: Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of the Franklin Municipal Court is rather limited. It has authority over all crimes occurring within the Franklin Municipal Code. The different types of cases handled by this court include:

•    Misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor such as petty theft, public intoxication, simple assault, vandalism, drug possession, domestic violence and so on.
•    Infractions which are not crimes but prohibited in accordance to the law such as traffic rule violations.
•     The judge presiding over the Franklin Municipal Court has the authority to perform marriage ceremonies.
•    Small Claims not exceeding $3,000.
•    Landlord disputes not exceeding $15,000.

•    On the search page provide the input information such as the First Name, Middle Name, Company Name, DOB, Case number, Case Year and the party name.

•    For ticket numbers, enter the whole ticket number including the letters preceding the number.
