An arrest warrant is issued by a judge and it is a formal order of the court which authorizes the law enforcement officers to arrest a person who is suspected of committing a crime which is prohibited by law. In cases of serious crimes the police typically handcuff the suspect and bring him or her to a police station or a local jail where he or she will be incarcerated pending a judicial bail or an arraignment. In instances other than that, the police may issue a notice to appear specifically mentioning when and where the accused is to appear for his arraignment.

Other instance for issuing a warrant for a person’s arrest is when a breach of a court order or contempt of court happens. Some court orders give the police officers the power to arrest a person without any further orders.

In the state of Idaho one can surrender oneself on a warrant by going to the Public Safety Building at 7200 Barrister in Boise, Idaho. For bail purposes one needs to contact a bail agent to bond out of jail. One needs to pay a bond fee in cash which includes a Sheriff’s fee of $25 for each warrant or one will have to remain in custody until the next arraignment time with the magistrate judge. If anyone intends to bond out of jail then they will have to pay the bond agent 10% of the listed bond amount in addition to the agent’s fee.
