Searching for a Missouri Arrest Warrant

An arrest warrant is an order which is made by the state on the basis of a complaint lodged and undersigned by a judge. It authorizes the police department to take the person concerned into legal custody. An arrested person stays in custody until his or her bail is posted or court orders for a release.

Issuance of a Warrant

A Missouri arrest warrant is issued when a written complaint of an act is filed with the police department. Then, the prosecuting attorney goes to the judge to get the warrant signed and the law enforcement body of that locality may arrest the person on the basis of suspicion that he or she might have committed the crime as mentioned in the arrest warrant. For more information you can take a look at http://missouriwarrants.net/.

Searching for Arrest Warrants by County

Sometimes you don’t know that there is an arrest warrant issued against you because the judge may issue it up to one year after the incident has taken place. If you have been involved in any such case, you should perform an occasional warrant search over the Internet. There are some websites of the county sheriffs which have automated systems where you can perform such a warrant search. These are the sheriffs of Boone County, Platte County, St. Francis County and Buchanan County.

The website link to office of Boone County is http://www.showmeboone.com/Sheriff/Warrants/WarrantsDisclaimer-Active.asp. You can visit the site to look for the Missouri arrest warrants issued for active misdemeanor and traffic cases. This is a service provided by the office and not an official database. As a result, you can get only records that are one month old or more. The mailing address of the office is: Boone County Sheriff's Department, 2121 County Dr., Columbia, MO 65202. You can also reach them by calling (573) 875-1111, or fax them at (573) 874-8953. If you want to share some information about a convict with an active arrest warrant you can call (573) 875-1111.

To access the arrest warrants list of Platte County you can visit http://www.plattesheriff.org/warrants/. They provide an online search facility to look for Missouri arrest warrants that are active in this particular county. However, if your unique identifier does not produce any suitable match from this database, that does not imply that the person concerned has no active arrest warrant in this county or anywhere else. To search for active warrants, go to http://www.plattesheriff.org/warrants/http://www.peoplepublicrecords.org/warrantsearch.html and provide the last name. If you have any information on someone who has been issued a warrant, you can call up the sheriff’s office at (816)858-3521. You can also submit an online form by providing certain information. You will get this online form at http://www.plattesheriff.org/crimewatchtip.shtml.

To access the active arrest warrants in St. Francis County, you must know that there are two divisions. The first is for the felony criminals and the second is for the misdemeanors. You can access the sheriff’s office at http://www.sfcsd.org/aw.htm. The link to the list of felony warrants is http://www.sfcsd.org/awf.htm and for the list of misdemeanor warrants, go to http://www.sfcsd.org/awf.htm. You will get the name, age, crime committed and picture of the convicts with active Missouri arrest warrants. The office updates the records and tries to keep them accurate. If you can locate one of these individuals, don’t try to detain him or her yourself. Call the sheriff’s office at (573) 756-3252 or 431-2777, or you can also email them at warrants@sfcsd.org. If you find your details among the active warrants list, you can call them at the same numbers. Or, you can directly reach the prosecuting attorney at 756-6666 ext. 72 who will then take care of the arrest warrant.

You can get the active outstanding arrest warrants for felony cases in Buchanan County at http://www.crimestopperssaintjoseph.com/. For any information on arrest warrants or if you have information on someone with an outstanding felony arrest warrant, you can call the office of the sheriff at (816) 238-TIPS or (816) 238-8477. The confidentiality of your identity is maintained by the office authorities. The names of the warrant holders can be searched alphabetically. If you have an outstanding felony charge, you can visit the prosecution attorney’s website at www.yourbcpa.org. This facility is a service provided by Buchanan County and thus cannot be regarded as an official document.

If you are not a resident of any of these counties, then you can either hire an attorney who will look for the arrest warrant list for you or you can call up the local court. They can tell you over the phone whether you have any warrant issued against your name or not. If you have received a ticket for speeding or have a misdemeanor charge against you, you can contact the municipal court where these cases are dealt with.
