Learn How to Locate, Access and Research Information Contained in Nevada Arrest Records

In Nevada, most criminal and arrest records can be obtained free of cost online. Visit the official public website of the Nevada Department of Corrections, http://www.doc.nv.gov/, to acquire comprehensive information on offenders who are serving a sentence in any Nevada state prison. This site houses very general information on the inmates, like their location and arrest status. The site does not contain information on parolees, persons who have been sentenced for probation, and individuals who have been recently arrested and are awaiting trial.

Arrest Records with Detention Centers

To obtain more specific information, you will have to get in touch with the detention facility where the person is being kept. In particular, you should contact the Associate Warden of Programs or the Caseworker III of a specific institution. In the Las Vegas region, you will need to contact the Clark County Detention center. In Northern Nevada, contact the Washoe County Detention Facility. If you do not know where the inmate is being detained, or if s/he has been incarcerated, you can call the Department’s Family and Community Services staff.

The official public website of the Washoe County Sheriff’s office, http://www.washoesheriff.com/inmate-search.htm, provides an inmates search option. The site contains information on only in-custody inmates. Nevada arrest records are updated here hourly. This information is only hosted for public safety reasons, and cannot be used as evidence in legal cases.

Nevada Arrest Records Online

You may also access Nevada arrest records through the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Records and Technology Division, located in Carson City. The official website is http://nvrepository.state.nv.us/criminal.shtml. The DPS-006 form is available here. Fill it out and attach the fingerprint card containing the impressions of the person whose records you want to verify. You have to complete the fingerprint card at a law enforcement or private agency. When you submit the form and the fingerprint card, also send a money order or a check amounting to $21.00, drawn in favor of the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

You may also access arrest records at the Nevada Criminal Information System website, http://www.doc.nv.gov/ncis/index.php.

There are certain websites that house Nevada arrests records sourced from government agencies. Most offer instantaneous access to Nevada arrest records. Some are free, though you will have to register for a fee to obtain the services of some. Some also promise to keep you updated regularly on the arrests taking place in the state. It is also safe and reliable to go about the search through a government website or approach the respective governing body. You may get in touch with your local police station. They will give you information regarding which government department to approach to find arrest record details. This will not cost you much, sometimes as little as $20.
