Where to Find Ohio Prison Inmate Information
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction supervises all correctional facilities operating within the state. After an individual is convicted and sentenced, he or she is sent to a reception center in Ohio. There are three such reception centers operating in the state. All female inmates are sent to the Ohio Reformatory for Women, located in Marysville, while all male inmates are sent to either the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton, Ohio or the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio.
An inmate's destination depends on his or her county of residence. Inmates are evaluated on the basis of health, education, and other criteria, and the necessary security level for each inmate is also determined. The reception center performs an evaluation of each individual and the inmate is assigned to a correctional facility that suits his or her requirements.
