Oklahoma Warrant Information

A warrant is an official document issued by a judge or a special magistrate ordering the law enforcement officials to detain, arrest, or seize the individual who is the subject of the warrant. It is usually issued in the county where the crime was committed. It can be affected by factors such as the record of the criminal history of an individual and the nature of the crime that was committed.

The record of any outstanding warrants and the arrest warrants generally remain in the state or the federal database indefinitely unless the warrant is dropped due to the unavailability of information or substantial evidence regarding a criminal case.

In the state of Oklahoma the Warrant Division of the Department of Corrections is responsible for the maintenance of over 45,000 warrants. This division serves and recalls warrants on a regular basis. It is open twenty four hours and receives over hundred calls each day for the verification as well as the validation of the warrants maintained by them.

The Warrants Division of the Department of Corrections is also entrusted with the responsibility of entering the details of the offenders into the database of the National crime Information Center as well as to place on hold the various defendants arrested in other countries, states and counties within the state of Oklahoma.

The warrants and records maintained by the Warrants Division help the various law enforcement agencies by proving information about arrests, outstanding warrants as well as the photos of the wanted criminals and the fugitives. For more information individuals can contact the Warrants Division of the Oklahoma State’s Department of Correction: (405) 713 2042.
