The U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals
The U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals is the federal appellate court which hears appeals filed from the following districts: the Western District of Wisconsin, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Southern District of Illinois, Central District of Ilinois, Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Indiana, and Northern District of Indiana.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has 14 judges, one of which is a chief judge. The office of the chief judge is rotated among the judges on an annual basis, and is responsible for daily administrative duties for the court. In order to become a chief judge, a judge must be at least 70 years old or have served for at least seven years. If no judge in the court meets these criteria, they are waived.
