The U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals
The U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals is the federal appellate court which hears appeals for the following districts: the District of Utah, District of Kansas, District of Colorado, District of Wyoming, District of New Mexico, Western District of Oklahoma, Eastern District of Oklahoma and Northern District of Oklahoma.

This court has ten active judges and ten senior judges. One of the ten active judges serves as chief judge, and this responsibility is rotated among all active judges. In order to become a chief judge, they must be either 70 years old or have served for seven years. If no active judges meet these criteria, they are waived, however.
