Washington Superior Court Information
There are 29 Washington Superior Courts spread among 39 counties. Superior Courts within the jurisdiction of Washington are:

Washington Superior Courts are of general jurisdiction. Superior courts have special jurisdiction for real property rights, felony matters, domestic relations, mental illness, estate, civil and juvenile cases that involves more than $50,000. Superior Courts also hear appeals from lower courts that have limited jurisdiction. The Judges of the Washington Superior courts serve four years. In the year 2003, 174 judges were elected.
Kinds of Cases Heard in Washington Superior Courts
Unlike lower courts, there are no limits on the kinds of criminal or civil cases heard. Superior courts are also court of records. The Superior court hears appeals from municipal courts and decisions of the state administrative agencies.
If any appeal is made after the final judgment of the Superior court then it is heard by the Court of Appeals. In cases involving the death penalty the case is only heard by the Supreme Court. The Superior Court has a juvenile division that deals with cases of children below the age of 18.
