Idaho Sex Offender Search
Sex offender registration begun in Idaho on July 1, 1993. It was established as one of the statutory duties for offenders who are convicted of sex charges amounting to a felony to make a registration at the office of the local sheriff. Five years later in 1998, the law was annulled and a new law was implemented in its place. This was called the Sexual Offenders Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act, Title 18 Chapter 83. It aimed at developing a database of sex offenders in the state and to enable public access to this state repository. Another law called the Juvenile Sexual Offender Registration Notification and Community Right to Know Act Title 18, Chapter 84 was implemented in 1998 to furnish information about juveniles who were “convicted as adults” and therefore had to register with the law enforcement agencies.
