In Nebraska, any person who is found guilty of any sex offense or pleads guilty must register. Also any person who is on probation or has been incarcerated for any sex crime that needs registration require to do so with the local law enforcement agencies. At the time of registration, the Nebraska sex offenders are required to provide the administering authority the following information:
1. Full name
2. Alias names
3. Date of birth and place of birth
4. Complete physical description including height, weight, eye color etc.
5. Social Security Number
6. List of offenses he or she was charged of
7. Case details including court verdict
8. Present and temporary residential addresses
9. Employment or education details
Nebraska sex offender is required to register within 5 working days of changing residence or moving into Nebraska (for offenders coming to Nebraska from other states). According to the current law, all offenders must register for ten years. From January 1, 2010, the registration period may change to fifteen or even twenty five years depending on the case. An offender may even have to register for life if he or she was convicted for a sexual offense under section 29-4003.
