Accessing Nevada Clark County Court Records
Nevada Clark County Court records that are “sealed” are not available online for public viewing. Only the contending parties, the plaintiff or the defendant may access them. For this, they have to submit a request in person to the Clerk of the Court in that particular division where the case had been registered. Photo identification is mandatory. To access adoption records, you further need a court order.
Not all cases are “sealed.” Some involving adoption, paternity, juvenile abuse or neglect are sealed by the dictates of the law. The court, by its discretion, may also order sealing of case records that deal with individual, civil, domestic, temporary protective orders, probate, guardianship or involuntary civil commitment cases.
For others, you may view case summaries, the names of the contending parties, and case details at http://courtgate.coca.co.clark.nv.us/. The cases are grouped under these heads: Civil, Criminal, Probate, Family Law, and Child Support. Probate cases that have originated earlier than 2009 are housed under the head Probate Prior to 2009.
An appendage of the judicial machinery of the state government, the Nevada Clark County Court is guided by the state's constitution and strives to bring about a fair resolution of disputes while maintaining the fine balance between its powers and the constitutional requirements.
