Washington Sex Offender Information

The state of Washington, United States of America records a high rate of sex offenses every year. In order to reduce the incidence of sex offenses and to safeguard your community as well as the people you care for, you must be acquainted with the details of the Washington sex offenders.

Sex Offender Categories

Washington Sex Offender Registration

Washington sex offenders are required to register with the Washington State Patrol. The office of the Washington State patrol can be contacted by writing in to The Identification and Criminal History Section, P.O. Box 422633, Olympia, WA 98504-2633.

A Washington sex offender must register within twenty four hours of release or within thirty days of taking up residence in the state of Washington or within twenty four hours of moving out. Out of state offenders convicted in Washington are also required to register. The registrant must provide the following information to the authority at time of registering: full name, alias name, addresses [both permanent as well as temporary address], date of birth, place of birth, crime for which he or she was convicted, date of conviction, social security number, current photograph and fingerprints.

The offender is required to register in person with the local law enforcing agency. This registry helps the public to recognize the offenders in their neighborhoods and take suitable precautionary measures.
